This vintage Scandinavian Rya rug, titled Sunset, is a stunning example of mid-century modern textile art, capturing the dramatic beauty of a fiery horizon in a thick, luxurious wool pile. Featuring vibrant shades of orange, amber, rust, and deep charcoal, the design evokes a glowing sun setting over shadowed mountains and reflective waters. The long, shaggy pile enhances the texture and depth, giving the impression of movement and warmth. The vintage carpet was masterfully hand-crafted with the finest wool following traditional and refined weaving techniques, reaching the Middle Ages.

Its style, Rya, was developed centuries ago in Scandinavia to protect the people, especially the mariners living off the sea, from severe weather conditions.
