About Ava:

Ava was diagnosed with Williams Syndrome at 14.5 months old. She\'s now 5, is very social, and wants to be friends with everyone she meets. She\'s also the inspiration for Outshine Labels! Ava is one in about 30,000 people with Williams Syndrome. 

\"Rare but Real\" was one of the first phrases we heard when Ava was diagnosed with Williams Syndrome, because it’s considered a “rare disease”. We chose the Saguaro Cactus for this design, because just like those with rare diseases, they are “rare but real” too! Saguaro Cacti can only be found in the Sonoran Desert, which runs through Arizona (where we live), Mexico and the Baja region of California.⁣ 

About Williams Syndrome:Williams Syndrome (WS) is a genetic condition present at birth. It can affect anyone around the world, and is caused by the spontaneous deletion of 26-28 genes on chromosome #7 at the time of conception.

Williams Syndrome is characterized by several medical problems, including cardiovascular disease, developmental delays, and learning challenges. 

These often occur side by side with striking verbal abilities, highly social personalities, and an affinity for music.
