Representing a contemporary evolution of a timeless Grand Seiko design dating back to 2001, this all-new reference benefits from a redesign that enhances case and crystal construction, elevating serviceability. 

The fundamental blueprint of this watch — a classically designed round manual wristwatch with an ivory-toned dial — has been a fixture in the Grand Seiko lineup since the introduction of Caliber 9S. Drawing inspiration from the Grand Seiko First, the intention was never to replicate the original watch precisely. Now, SBGW301 captures the quintessential qualities that made the 1960 original so captivating. Each delicately curved dial is crowned by an appealing box-shaped sapphire crystal, reminiscent of mid-century design with a nod to vintage-style acrylic crystals.The elegantly shaped 37.3mm x 11.7mm stainless-steel case has been Zaratsu polished at the hands of Grand Seiko’s takumi, giving it a clean, crisp, and distortion-free surface. A robust crocodile strap completes the watch, further evoking the contrast of the case\'s exemplary finishing. Inside, the SBGW301 is powered by the attractively finished 9S64 caliber, its large gear-train bridge visible through the case back. Turning the crown starts the 28,800 bph movement running and fills it up with 72 hours of power reserve. A “slipping attachment” structure in the barrel prevents over-winding.
