HOT ! Sumatra Royal Badger Women Producers

Our exclusive Red Badger has the coveted “Royal” title bestowed upon the best cuppings from the Gayo Highland Cooperative. We’re particularly proud that this Royal Badger is sourced from 15 women producers in the cooperative and we paid a premium in recognition of their exceptional quality and to kickstart the empowerment of more women producers in North Aceh.

Red Badger coffee is a unique sensory expression of northern Sumatra, grown in rich, red volcanic soil. The beans are processed by wet-hulling, “gilling basah,” an exclusive Indonesian method removing the outer layer of the bean before it is fully dried. The result is full-bodied with deep, rustic notes.

We’re also very happy to note that 10% of our purchase price helps fund an income-producing program for a local orphanage in Medan.
