Textile Origin Story:

I have created so many art pieces over the years based on this idea of a sylph. I was looking up the word synergy as a potential name for a painting when I first came across the word; it read \"an imaginary being inhabiting the air.\" That was it! I held onto that painting for years unwilling to part with it. I was eventually asked to paint a mural, based on the original, in a swimming pool by a client who really wanted to buy the painting. What a treat to take a small painting and make it the size of a swimming pool! Plus the win win is that I met my husband on that project as he was the pool builder. The textile as you see it is from one of the painted versions of the pool mural. It comes from the wing of a skeletal creature flying against a midnight sky. Years later we ended up redoing the mural in Murano glass mosaic. It was a bit of a family project. At one point my husband, our nephew, and I were all working together in the pool. I named the textile Wednesday after Jenna Ortega\'s iconic portrayal of Wednesday Addams.
