HOT ! Vintage Silver Omani Triangular Pendant Hirz Necklace

An unusual triangular pendant hirz (Loh Muthallith) necklace from Oman from the second half of the twentieth century. The triangular amulet is worked in silver with an applique gold center and granulation borders. The amulet holder has five sets of double chains ending in crescent shaped dangles. The pendant hangs from a loop in loop double chain. There are two red beads on either side of the pendant. All the elements of this necklace test as silver in a scratch test. It is in good shape and can be slipped on (as long as your head has a maximum conference of 61 cm or 24\".)

A similar necklace can be seen in the British Museum\'s collection (2009,6023.222)

• The amulet pendant  is 14.5 x 8 cm (5 5/8 x 3 1/8\") with the dangles.
