The Abatement Technologies HEPA-AIRE H2KM is an industrial-grade, dual-speed negative air machine delivering 2,000 CFM on high and 1,300 CFM on low through a three-stage filtration system that terminates at a 99.97%-efficient HEPA filter. Built in 20-gauge galvanized steel and NRTL-certified (UL/CSA), it is the unit abatement contractors, restoration firms, and healthcare construction teams specify for asbestos, lead, and mold containment projects.
The H2KM operates in two distinct configurations. In recirculation (air scrubber) mode, contaminated room air enters through the inlet manifold, passes through all three filter stages, and exhausts back into the same space — continuously reducing airborne particle counts without ducting. This mode is appropriate for mold remediation and general construction dust control where negative pressure is not required by regulation. In negative air machine mode, the 12\" exhaust collar connects to flex duct that routes filtered air outside the containment zone, creating negative pressure that prevents cross-contamination. Asbestos and lead abatement projects governed by EPA and OSHA standards typically require documented negative pressure, which the H2KM maintains with either its 2,000 or 1,300 CFM speed selected to match the containment volume and required air changes per hour.
In healthcare construction governed by ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment) protocols, the H2KM satisfies the requirement for HEPA-filtered negative air pressure at Class III and Class IV risk project sites. Its NRTL certification (UL/CSA) satisfies facility safety requirements without a variance. For insurance restoration billing, the H2KM air scrubber mode is billable under Xactimate line item AQRS (Air Quality — Rental, per day), a code recognized by major property insurers for covered remediation losses. The standard 6\"-deep HEPA filter is individually tested and certified — certification documentation ships with the unit. Contractors requiring extended filter life between change-outs can specify the 12\"-deep H2010M HEPA, which increases the unit\'s weight to 151 lbs but substantially reduces consumable costs on long-duration projects. The swing-out filter door provides tool-free access for filter inspection and replacement without repositioning the unit.
