The HEPA-CARE® HC800FD is a portable air purification system capable of converting a standard patient room into a CDC-compliant negative pressure isolation room. Certified as a Class II Medical Device under FDA 510K, the HC800FD operates at up to 925 CFM through a pharmaceutical-grade H14 HEPA filter rated at 99.99% efficiency at 0.3 microns — and can maintain 12 or more air changes per hour in spaces up to 3,500–4,500 cubic feet.

When negative pressure isolation is not required, the HC800FD functions as a recirculating HEPA air cleaner, reducing airborne pathogen counts in high-risk areas including ER waiting rooms and treatment areas.

Filtration System

Air passes through two stages before exhaust or recirculation. The first stage is a 2\" particulate pre-filter treated with a microbial growth inhibitor. The second stage is a pharmaceutical-grade H14 HEPA filter individually tested and certified per IEST-RP-CC001 to provide minimum 99.99% efficiency against a 0.3 micron challenge aerosol. The HEPA filter is mounted in an anodized aluminum frame that will not warp or support microbial growth.

A downward-facing flange embeds into a silicone-gel seal, forcing all air through the HEPA media and eliminating the risk of bypass — a zero-bypass dual cabinet design that provides documented assurance that contaminated air cannot circumvent the filter.

Filter access is through a hinged front door secured with two Phillips machine screws, providing quick access to both the HEPA filter and the 2\" pre-filter without tools beyond a standard screwdriver.

Optional Configurations

VAPOR-LOCK® Carbon Prefilter — Available for the HC800FD to remove airborne gas phase contaminants and odors. Replaces the standard 2\" particulate prefilter. Order separately.

HC800FDUV — Germicidal UV Disinfection — The UV variant includes four UVGI lamps that irradiate filtered air before exhaust or recirculation, inhibiting bacteria and virus growth. UVGI lamps must be factory installed at time of order — this option cannot be field-added after purchase.
