Renauld and the James Dean® Estate are proud to announce a collaboration to create limited edition sunglasses known as the James Dean® by Renauld.

James Dean is remembered as a 50s icon. His talent as an actor and his skill as a motorcar and motorbike enthusiast were tragically lost when his life was cut short. Dean’s iconic films include Giant and Rebel Without A Cause.

Throughout his life, Dean was known for wearing a distinct pair of sunglasses. As a tribute to the legend, we at Renauld have recreated his signature style.

The James Dean® 1955 features an authenticated part of Dean’s iconic mechanic suit encased within the Renauld Keepsake Marque, embedded in the temple of the sunglasses. This piece of memorabilia was cut and presented to us by Marcus Winslow, Jimmy’s cousin, on the Indiana farm where they grew up. This is a rare item from the family’s private collection, never shared with the public.

The distinctive glasses in tortoiseshell and piano black acetate feature clip-on sunglasses available in three different colours: Deep Blue, Olive Green, and Sky Blue. James Dean® by Renauld is crafted carefully to exacting standards in the Renauld Studios in Italy and comes with the option of prescription lenses.

*James Dean® by Renauld features a pioneering ValueBond NFC chip embedded into the sunglasses, providing authentication and gateway access to exclusive content related to the sunglasses and its narrative.

*Renauld is pioneering the concept of combining precious authenticated memorabilia into select sunglasses and protecting them with encrypted technology. As the memorabilia is finite in nature, we will produce strictly limited numbers, making them highly collectable. The progressive value of each piece, with and without a Renauld Keepsake, can be established and communicated via a strictly private and protected audience using the Renauld ValueBond platform.
