A remarkable relic of Anatolian weaving heritage, this 19th-century hand-woven rug fragment is a window into the artistic soul of early Turkish nomadic craftsmanship. Featuring alternating vertical bands of madder red, olive gold, and deep indigo, the fragment displays elegant vine and branch motifs outlined in ivory — a design vocabulary associated with Yörük and Karapınar tribal weavers of Central Anatolia.
Each color was created from natural dyes derived from local roots and plants, and time has gently softened their brilliance into a rich, earthy patina. The exposed warps and natural wear tell a story of authenticity and age, giving this piece the poetic charm sought by serious collectors and designers alike. Whether mounted in a frame or displayed as-is, it stands as a one-of-a-kind textile artifact representing over a century of history.
