✔ This rug carries a quiet sense of history and personal storytelling, bringing warmth, symbolism, and a deeply human touch into a space. It feels intimate and expressive — the kind of piece that invites you to look closer and discover something new each time.
Handwoven by a Kurdish artisan in Eastern Turkey, this vintage rug features a series of stepped medallions linked down the center, surrounded by protective tribal motifs and stylized floral forms. What makes it especially meaningful is the woven inscription along the upper edge, which includes a name and the date 12-2-948, believed to mark the day the rug was completed — a beautiful reminder that this textile was made by a specific person, at a specific moment in time.
The palette is soft yet lively, built around dusty rose, antique gold, warm peach, faded coral, and charcoal. The colors have mellowed over time into a harmonious, powdery warmth that feels inviting rather than bold. The floral border frames the composition with movement and rhythm, while the central medallions give the rug strong structure and presence.
Measuring approximately 4\'× 10\', this long format makes it ideal as a statement runner — perfect for hallways, alongside a kitchen corridor, or at the foot of a bed where you want pattern, history, and a soft wash of color without visual heaviness. Handwoven from wool using traditional village techniques, it shows the subtle irregularities and tonal shifts that give authentic Kurdish textiles their charm.
