DESCRIPTION:
This is a wonderful piece of Navajo artistry! This piece of Native American jewelry is handcrafted by Navajo artist Samuel Yellowhair out of genuine sterling silver and real turquoise. The pendant features a single teardrop-shaped turquoise stone, carefully placed in a hand-cut bezel, and accented by a twisted silver border and a bold fluted drop design for a striking finish. The pendant is stamped sterling and hallmarked by the artist.
The necklace is hand-strung with 5 mm sterling silver beads in the traditional Navajo style, giving it a classic and timeless look. Each end of the necklace is finished with sterling silver cones and a secure hook clasp for durability and comfort.
Turquoise is the birthstone of December. It is believed that turquoise tends to bring good fortune, strength and helps overcome illness. Turquoise got its name from the Levantine traders called Turks who brought the stone to Europe from Persia via Turkey centuries ago. Native Americans have prized turquoise since the time of the Aztecs, who mined it in New Mexico. The natural variations that occur in turquoise are part of its appeal and beauty.
