HOT ! Antique Trade Bead Bracelet

Chunky and Rustic best explains this one of a kind bracelet! The focal is a very large carved turquoise blue howlite (dyed) bead, with lots of texture. I’ve paired this with four large antique beads which include two rare blue “eye” beads, one reddish “skunk eye” bead and a reddish striped barrel bead. Tucked in between these antique beads are turquoise discs in the same teal blue as the focal bead, creamy bone discs with red dots ( or eyes), pops of red coral heishi and Tuareg silver metal bicones handmade in Mali. The end beads are African silver metal nuggets.

The closure is a stunning sterling silver button which fits through a loop of dark brown leather cord. This is knotted onto a large artisan sterling silver link. Knotted onto the leather ends are dark red chevron beads and bone disks. 

Giving a nod to New Mexico I included an artisan pewter Zia sun charm. This symbol is on the New Mexican flag. It originated with the Zia Pueblo people in ancient times. The design reflects their tribal philosophy, teaching the basic harmony of all things in the universe. It represent the four cardinal directions, the four seasons of the year, the four period of each day (morning, noon, evening, and night), and the four seasons of life (childhood, youth, middle age, and old age). This is accompanied by a Kingman turquoise dangle, and a stacked coral dangle.

This fits a 6.5” wrist.
