Inspired by the Goddess of the Underworld, innocence and Spring, Persephone. The myth goes, Persephone was so transfixed by the blooms of the narcissus flowers, she was able to be abducted by Hades and taken down to the Underworld. Further tricked by Hades, who offered Persephone pomegranate seeds which she consumed - Zeus ruled that as a result of consuming the food of the dead she must remain in the Underworld for six months of the year. Our Persephone cauldron candles have a sweet scent of freshly sliced pomegranates. Infused with Lepidolite - known as the stone of peace and tranquility, promoting calm in times of stress and hope in dark times, I chose this as immediately evoked imagery of Persephone clinging to hope in the darkest place of all - the Underworld. Garnet was also chosen to mirror pomegranate seeds to which our Goddess had consumed, while I carefully selected herbs and flowers associated with Persephone and to honour her duality - of the Underworld and of Spring, of dark and light, death and rebirth. Finally I chose Colombian Singing Quartz (the highest vibrational Quartz in the world), a great light sound energy crystal to heal both the body and the mind.
